plates

.

My question is plates . I see car haulers (3-4) running with regular state plates. After talking with a DMV represenative she said I need to run apportioned plates that can cost up to $3k. Im planning on running anywhere west of the MISS but mostly west coast. Am I required to have apportioned plates? Are state plates fine? How much do trip permits usally cost when entering different states. Are trip permits a one way cost? Thanks

Trip permits vary from state to state but they will total more than apportioned plates when it is all done. The only time trip permits make sense is if you are only occasionally going out of state.
